Curious if anyone has used this type of an exhaust arrangement.

Looks a bit shorter than the one I put on,,I used 14 disks, sounded dang good. Looking back at the $$ I spent & performance gain & looks, I wish I had dropped $20.00 & slapped a Dyna on, I woulda had over $350.00 bucks for tires & gas left over..

Clean it THOroughly, or it will turn blue & they wont stand behind it,

I had one......too loud for me even with just 8 discs.  The DYNA is a much nicer sound for me and the neighbors.

I don't know how this muffler will look on Savage... my friend has such in Shadow ACE, looks quite well and the sound is very good-not loud, velvety and low. I really like this

All the screws at the rear of that muffler will seize...
Try to goop them up with enough anti-seize to kill yer' granny... Wink...

PS.. a lot of people think the rear plates are all there is in a Supertrapps, but... they are glass packed...
The packing will burn out about every other oil change... (more like every oil change if you rev hard)... (stainless steel or copper kitchen scrubby balls will last longer than glass packing, but won't dampen noise as well)...
PSS.. if you use few enough plates to dampen noise, the muffler will blue fast... if you put in enough plates to prevent it,... you might as well run an open pipe... it's no longer a muffler, it's just an air deflector...
Overall... I hate these mufflers... Huh...

Sorry,... I'm ranting... Huh...
Supertrapp, Dynojet, and Seafoam...  Rip-offs... Tongue...

I'm running a Supertrapp with 8 discs. I love it!   I like the deep rumble and the big difference in performance over the stock muffler. But then again I have never heard a 650 with a Dyna on it so I have nothing to compare it with. I think the packing needs to be replaced so thanks for the info Serowbot. Maybe Justin can tell me what the difference is between running 8 and 14 discs? Much difference in performance?

Ever heard an open pipe XS650? Or an open pipe small Honda twin? Think those tones, blended, and you get a Savage with a Dyna or Sportster muffler. Having driven behind a Drifter 1500 with Vance and Hines Longshots and 3 Savages with modified mufflers, for a couple hours, I don't like the tone put out by the HD mufflers. At all. It was like being in a pack of 4 stroke quads running only spark arrestors all day.

And no, mine is not quiet either, sounds just like the rotor slap of an OLD Huey helicopter...  Grin
