Rough ride

I've been riding my '96 lately and aside from the crappy stock shocks...
it feels like my forks are locked up, very harsh ride.  Every bump is a jolt.
since it has boots on, I haven't been able to see how much the forks are compressing, but it feels like the springs are way stiffer.

I replaced the seals and oil a couple of years ago.  And it rode fine after that.  But I had lent it to my brother for a couple of years.

YOu should be able to test it just rolling in neutral & grabbing the brake.

I can help you pull them on Saturday...like with Tim's. I am trying to picture in my mind from a couple months ago the friction points where a low oil situation or damaged tube could bind up the forks.

just checked, front brake applied, they compress easily, no noises
I peeked under the boots  Shocked  forks are cleaner then whistles.

Oil to thick? or bottoming out?

I put 15wt in when I rebuilt them.

So then on the freeway you are not getting a smooth ride? Also, at what speed did you do the test? If it was a low speed then it seems like they are compressing too much. Just trying to narrow down the situation. Does it seem like they compress too much? Is it possible that one of the hex posts that we needed the broom handle to twist has come loose and it reducing the fork tube travel?
