Compression, spark, no start
10/18/13 at 09:49:53

Ok so after fixing the head gasket and dealing with the starter clutch gears I have ran into another problem.  The motor will rotate, there is compression and spark but it doesn't want to fire. I replaced the spark plug, I put on the raptor petcock. I tried with throttle and with none. I've tried with choke and with none. The evap tube coming from the engine isn't connected to the air box if thought that might be the issue but if it's just running air to the air box then it shouldn't show any difference if it was running air to the outside

I know you said you have spark, but thats w/o compression, toss a new plug in it & be Certain that battery is Hot. I hope you blew the dirt from around the plug, if you didnt, it went in the jug.

I didn't see where you said what the actual battery voltage is.  12v is not enough, even if it turns over.  12.65v is 100%, 12.0 is 45%, and 11.6 is 20%.   I think mine was 12v when it stopped starting, but it sounded like it was cranking fine.

But you can try push starting with a weak battery helping,

I did replace the spark plug and insured the area was clear and clean of dirt and debris.
The battery
is at full charge when I put it on there and tried to crank it.

Thanks for all y'all's help but I've run out of spare time messing with it. I'm going to have to take it to a mechanic, from what I was told the timing is off

That's what I was thinking to because I couldn't think of any way else it could be uniquely off unless it was 180 degrees off but I've decided that my mechanic skill level at the moment is way to low to complete the work on this bike.  I need to get a little bit more training behind my belt before I can finish a project like this.
