stray air/vacum line

I got a 1986 savage (nicknamed Randy..RIP Macho Man)when I got it,it was in pieces, after trial and error I have got it back together and running but it has excessive backfiring, now don't get me wrong here,it sounds bloody cool  Wink but it shoots out a flame too...bloody cool also  Wink Wink , but anyway, I have a stray air/vacum line positioned by the choke, just above the idle screw,it is attached but the other end is just hanging, can someone tell me where it is supposed to go please as I'm guessing I have too much air sucking in somewhere, being relatively new to the cruiser scene (about a 2 months) after riding sports bikes,I'm wondering why I never got one to start with   Smiley
should add here that I have searched the photos in the online manual but can't see where it leads

Good to know I'm not the only one to call my bike Randy.

Cool. Always trips me out to see (for the most part) a stock bike. There is so much stuff.

Another person from New Zealand, by the look of the plate on the Matchless and the "rangi" expression. Which part?

yeah jcstokes, defiantly black and silver plate, was going to change it but it looks the part on the beast,it's a 650,traded my old XD ute for it  Wink  am in Rangiora, about half hour NWish of Christchurch
Boogieman,so many things can be done to these machines, but think I'll keep it standardish (except for my rear tyre and shock lift),I like the look and feel of it this way and mint clip there NCSUindy09
