Yep, talking about riding; checking the bike; short test runs; it's good to include her in your prep for a ride too, like having her pick up supplies & such for you ahead of time; it will all work to keep it in her mind that you have specific UNCHANGEABLE plans.
Be sure to tell her that you appreciate her helping you prepare, which will keep you safe while gone and get you back home safely where she can then "properly" thank you for being such a thoughtful, caring and loving husband. Cool
