So the local 5pm news was going on about some meteor shower tonight... So I jump on the bike and hit the Natchez Trace (Federal Park).. they had said the "park" isn't "closed" as basically the park is a road. But all the park rangers are on furlough.. meaning the garbage at the roadside parks is filling up and such things. Therefore I used this lack of oversight to park at one of the roadside parks to watch the shower. And I even saw one!!!
