Question regarding sissy bar installation, etc.

I've had an offer from a forum member to purchase his sissy bar. It's in great shape...he sent me pictures, but it looks like it fits into the ends of the sidebars by the signals into openings which my sidebars don't have. I have to find out from him yet what year his S40 is, but mine is an 06 that doesn't seem to have these openings in the sidebars. If I get his siderails as well will they fit to my fender? Thanks for any help.

You'll need the side rails designed for the sissy bar. I'm pretty sure they are all the same. Make sure you ask for the bolts that hold the rails on. They are a different length than the standard ones. The first time you put them on it is a difficult task reaching under that fender trying to put a wrench on from the inside.

I'm sorry, I meant to say they are the same from year to year.

Mine is a 06 yep you need those side rails and his bolts. Your will need to remove your turn signals from the old rails bolt them to the new ones. Yes it is a bear to get a wrench in under the fender but it can be done so dont tighten everthing up until you get it all bolted and it will work fine
