How do you...

How do you get the slack out of the throttle cable? It seems my throttle will turn around a 1/4 " before catching. Is there an adjuster under the black rubber boot and how do you do it? Thanks!

Make sure you take a measurement.  "Seems" and "reality" can get blurred easily.  Max adjustment of 0.16" is 1/6 of an inch, and that can feel like a lot.

If you do adjust it, start your engine when you're done.  WITHOUT holding the throttle, turn your handlebars back and forth the whole way slowly.  hear for any change in your idle speed.  If you adjust it too tight, it will find a place to pull, and your bike will give itself some gas.

Dang,, when I decided I didnt like the way it picked up when I was  rollin on the gas & went to thecarb, loosened the clamp & pulled the slack out of the cable,,After that, when I hit the apex & went to get on it, it started pulling Right Now,, not 20 feet later,
Definitely test for UNwanted RPM increases after adjusting,

Thanks for your answers guys. I guess there is an adjuster under the rubber boot on the throttle cable . How do you pull the boot back without destroying it ,to adjust the cable? Thanks!

Best way,.. is to buy a bike less than 3 years old... Grin...

Old, dried out, rubber loses it's elasticity... no gettin' around it...
This is why,... you should replace tires at 5 years, regardless of how much tread is left...

If the boot is fragile, adjust at the carb end.

The boot on mine didn't last but a couple years, tops. Tear it off, you won't miss it.
