I have a confession to make
09/23/13 at 14:45:51

I have a confession to make, I sold my bike a few months ago now, my intentions were to buy another bike soon after but being unemployed and broke sucks other priorities came up first. I still come on here and lurk about quite often, I like this forum.
I must confess I miss the bike a lot sometimes, I miss riding out with friends, splitting lanes like a hooligan, clutch less WOT shifts, getting everyone's attention especially the ladies just minding my own business riding down the road, the character and sweet sounds of a carb'd big single. Mines was a black 2001 bobber it came with a nice Harley fishtail style baffle, I removed the fenders along with some other useless things, made a side mount for my plate, properly rejetted the carb and had lots of fun. These mods made a huge improvement for acceleration and the bike was definitely scary, pinning the throttle in third til redline always got my heart racing. I learned so much with this bike, how to change a tire by hand, Jetting and tuning its carb, how to ride a motorcycle.

Im sure ill buy another savage one day soon for the right price.

Be positive, fortune will smile on you, but do be careful lane splitting. You can't enjoy a Savage dead or crippeled.

Get a jug or quart jar or something to throw your daily change into.
It does not take all that long to have $100 worth in there.
Saving change doesn't hurt a budget at all and it can work for you.
While saving, be on the watch for a parts bike or even someone who is just tired of their bike sitting there unused and wants to get rid of it for a few $$.  Be patient and one will show up somewhere.
About half of the parts bikes I have bought for $300 just needed a battery and a cleanup of the carb to make them run.

Definitely LANCER, im always scanning my local craigslist for another one at a good price. I have also been thinking about a way to save money lately it is something along the lines of what you said which is great advice btw just in addition to that, if I could save say ten dollars a day every day for lets say a year then that alone would be over $3500. More than enough for another savage, tax and title, a nice jacket, a stage 2 cam, jetset and some other toys.  Cool

I make a practice of saving my change, and in fact I will always use whole dollars on every purchase no matter how small, just to have the extra change.  I have a round metal pitcher, that holds maybe a half gallon, in which I throw my change every time I walk in the door.  When its full I pour it all out and roll the coins and have anywhere from $100-130 worth.
It takes 2-3 months to fill it so it works out to about a buck/day average.
Its not a lot but by the end of the year it is enough to buy a complete parts bike.
