Australian Motor Enthusiasts Party

Very interesting to note that the Australian Motor Enthusiasts Party has actually gained a seat in the Australian Senate. This would probably be the first time in the world that a vehicle enthusiasts group has gained a seat in a government anywhere in the world.
Although the party appears to be car dominated it would be interesting to note their attitude towards motorcyclists, which will hopefully be supportive. The new Australian Prime Minister has a minority in the senate and may have to rely on this party to get his legislation through.

It was a weird one. The Australian Motorists Party won a seat even though they have no policies, same with the Australian Sports Party, who only want to see more sport played. Fair enough. The Liberal Democrats (Let's have guns in schools!) scored a seat by tricking people into thinking they were voting Liberal. Clive Palmer (super rich nutcase) got a couple of seats in Queensland. The Greens (the environmental watchdogs) preferenced climate change sceptics. I got no idea whether the Sex Party won anything, or the Hunting and Fishing Party. I'm over it.
