Cam chain replacement time?
09/02/13 at 12:38:49

I have the versy adjuster that was installed around 32,450 Km.
I am now at 40203KM. I just did a check on the sound and there is a mechanical chain sound coming from the right side. I am not sure if that was there before.

When is it time to replace the cam chain with the versy adjuster?

Whatever came about the higher durability chain people were talking about earlier?

Additional possibly useful info: Using Rotella T6.

If you are on your second hole the chain keeps moving forward until it starts hitting itself in the middle.   The noise isn't subtle, so unless you really have a noise I'd just wait a bit until you do.

Remember, the chain going XX feet per second hits itself going the other way resulting in a collision force of 2XX   (one XX each way).

It's like 2 cars doing a head on collision -- not bashful about it at all.

Super chains --- ask Lancer.   I have two of them in oil from the first batch, jest waiting for me to need them.

I too am on my second hole, just waiting patiently for the ruckus to start.
