What I did to my bike today/How it currently looks

been meaning to for a while now, but finally got around to making a taller sissy bar for the misses. was a bit of a pain to measure, bend, cut, drill, remeasure, recut, etc, etc. but I finally did it and it looks pretty good I think. I redid my seat with the foam from my last attempt. This time no sewing involved. I just wrapped the foam with diamond stitched material. I am looking into some sort of waterproof. I tested a small sample with some Mod Podge. Worked ok but turned white when wet. My grandpa said back in the day they used Saddle Soap. Might try some of that if I find it. For now, Ill just keep an eye on the weather and not wash it. I also took my front fender off(just to see if I liked the look of it for now...might go back on, not sure yet) and I also removed license plate bracket, which was quite bulky and ugly in my opinion. Also, the other day I got my handlebars in! I love em so far. Nice stretch and height. No cable swapping. And they look pretty cool, too.

so of course....pictures:

mind the missing left front blinker lens. fell off on a ride the other day. I have a replacement on its way. til then, some good ole packing tape will do fine. Also, I plan on making a pad for the sissy bar to match the seat. But its 97 here in AR, so ill save it for another day.

Looks pretty good. I like the looks of no front fender but wouldn't want all the extra spray.

How in the world do you have ONE saddlebag?

thanks, zieglarf! I actually havent noticed any difference without the fender. of course, I havent ridden it under all road and weather conditions yet either. the saddlebag is an old sissy bar bag my dad wasnt using. I just needed something for carrying a tool set and misc small items. I usually have: tools, duct tape, zip ties, multi tool knife, and if im going somewhere I think I might want to take pictures, my mini tripod. Until I need more space it works great.

Lancer, thanks. everyone always blurs or marks out their plates in pictures and i'm not 100% sure why, but I figured there has to be a reason right. I mean what could someone do with my license plate numbers?

If they really wanted to,.. they could get your name and address...
Which would seem more dangerous if the person were close enough to get to you... (which means,.. a person can get that info in your town from seeing you on the street, where you are required by law not to cover it... and they are of course, close by)...
So,.. realistically,... it's useless... Grin...

I might worry about a teenage girl releasing that info...  on her twittterface...
We're not exactly prey for net predators... Tongue...

Not entirely useless, but doesn't really apply to us.

I think the convention is to prevent someone from targeting you for what you've said on the internet.
Now no one in the right mind would come after you for putting even $1000 of parts in a $2000 bike.  multiply that by 10 or 20 and you got some real problems.
