Front Brake Pad Life

I know this is a loaded question, but what are you folks seeing on front brake pad life ?  I had to replace my factory ones at 5500 miles, used EBC (FA106) composite pads for the replacement.  That seemed a little quick for me that is why I am asking.  One of my riding partners is always on me to use the front brake more, but I am an old chopper guy who did not even have a front brake or useless one to use most of my riding time.  Thank goodness I lived through those days, ah to be young and carefree, or is it dumb, again.  It could be as I have gotten older I realize it takes longer to heal.  Shocked

I know we are not to have two questions in the same post, but this question is quick.  From everything I see on the site I need to be looking / checking my cam tensioner about 7000 mikes is that about right ?  I am thinking it would be easier to open up the side to check and then just replace it with one of Verslagen’s and not have to worry again for good while.

EBCs will last about twice that long (10,000 miles).

Check for cam tensioner at 12,000 miles unless you hear something slapping in there before then.

Seriously? I have 51,000 and I'm still on my second set of front and rear brake pads and they have tons of wear left.

OK now I feel better knowing 5K is normal for stock pads.  Curious to see how the EBC do.  Will not worry about the chain tensioner for another 4K unless I start hearing something.

Thanks for information and help everyone has been on this site, great group.
