I could go with Tom Hanks... I feel so common,... but, I think he's a good enough guy...

Tom Hanks , top democrat. (Just to be fair if we're gonna label everyone....) Eastwood and Hanks have the same occupation, yet you felt the need to label Clint. This is proof of the obvious, pop-culture leans left on the political spectrum.

But, it's a good thought experiment. And I don't think you can throw politicians out of the mix necessarily.

You'd want someone whose been involved in many, many different situations, smart, articulate, pragmatic, loaded with common sense, with brass balls to stand up against wrong.

I'm not necessarily against Hanks. I'd actually prefer him over Eastwood. If I can't vote for myself, I'll go with Hanks until I put some thought into it.
Of course, the aliens might want a Chinaman.....

I do not keep up with actors and such to know flip about their personal ideals. I figure most reflect their CA surroundings.. thus liberal leaning. Also being paid as they are.. seems to put them a mental state of feeling guilty about their wealth.. so again pushes them towards liberal. Obviously I am very conservative... but mostly constitutionalist. I just am not aware of any actors that lean that way.  Maybe Bill Cosby?? He has certainly attempted to make a positive impact on the US for nearly as many years as I have been alive.

Who can forget such sage words as:
"I brought you into this world.. I can take you out.. and then I can make another .. just like you!"

I've decided on Phil Mickelson pro golfer. Golfers are independent contractors so they know the value of hard work. He seems to be an all-around good guy, gives a lot of money away. Been around the world, interact with all different types of people. Not all that much different from Tom Hanks. Anyway, you could do a lot worse. He gets my vote.
