RELOCATING IGNITION LOCK? (Read 102 times)

Rix Full Member Offline SuzukiSavage.com Rocks! Posts: 132	RELOCATING IGNITION LOCK? 08/20/13 at 09:51:30 has anyone done it? The stock location is a little strange (IMHO) and I was just wondering if anyone has moved it to a more (seemingly) normal location?

You can go to the RYCA videos on their website or YouTube and they will tell you how to relocate the ignition switch up to the speedometer hole....which is the position they use for the ignition switch when the mount a speedo up on the forks.

Reply #2 - 08/20/13 at 10:05:52 They put it down there because Harley used to do it, I always liked the ones that were mounted up on the handlebars, the strangest one i have seen is on the Triumph Bonneville's they mount them to the side of the headlights.

Reply #4 - 08/20/13 at 10:13:30 Moving the switch really just involves cutting the wires, then splicing in longer pieces to allow the wires to reach your "normal" position of choice.

Reply #7 - 08/20/13 at 11:52:35 Beings that mine is still new (under 200 miles still) I haven't revved it out much at all. Do they have a limiter? Or just valve float/other mechanical limitation? Or do they just spit the rod at too high a rev?

They just stop revving......they run out of air flow. That is not to say that you could not over rev one and blow it up if you ignored the urge to shift.
