Fine cigars.
08/12/13 at 06:15:21

I have been doing a lot of cleaning lately.
I found a Garcia Y Vega cigar that says "It's a Boy!" in my middle drawer (where artifacts go to die).
I don't even remember who had the baby it's been so long.
So I took a long bike ride (CT to PA), was with good company, and smoked that bad boy.

I enjoyed it. Having a day off, first time leaving the state on my bike, good company, great weather.
I don't know anything about cigars though. I didn't know if I'd have to cut it or bite the end off. Turns out it was pre-drilled for a hole.
But I'd like to do it again. Any recommendations for a good once in a while cigar for a non smoker?
Once in a while meaning I haven't smoked a cigar, or cigarette, in probably 4 years.

I like these. Inexpensive but very good tobacco. End is pre-cut so they're ready to go as soon as you unwrap them. I like the vanilla flavor myself - the flavor is very subtle, not overwhelmingly sweet like a lot of flavored cigars, but if you don't care for flavored smokes the naturals are very good too. Nice size too. 15 minutes or so to finish one.

La Aurora also makes a lot of premium hand rolled cigars but they are bigger sizes and the top-of-the-line models are pretty expensive.

Dutch Masters are decent, for 5 pack cello wrapped.

Anything the ships in an o-ring sealed screw capped aluminum tube. Which can then be used as a registration and insurance holder in your tool roll.

I think you'll like them. The boxes are nice too. I've got all sorts of crap in my garage stored in them

I used to smoke cigars, back before it got Cool,, in the 80s I could get a 100% Baccy Ceegar, imported, for a whopping 75 cents. Make one last for the better part of a day of work, lite it up, hit it a few times, let it go out & chew on it a while, trim the sloppy part off, lite it,, repeat till its done,,

That must have been bone dry, they should be kept near 70% humidity and near 70f degrees. Also Full-Flavor and Full-Body are very different, flavor is for the "notes" you taste in the smoke and body is the power, strength or "harshness" of the tobacco. My American palatte can handle full flavor all day but I do not enjoy anything over mild-medium body, especially if it has a lot of "pepper".

Ghurka Grand Envoy
Ghurka (just about anything)
Brickhouse
Acid Kuba Kuba (very aeromatic and my #1)
Victor Sinclair
Cubano del Sol (might be discontinued)
AVO Domaine
AVO Classic
Arturo Fuente are super expensive

Watch out for Deisel, especially Unholy Cocktail as the nicotene will literally make you sick if you are not accustomed to it.

I smoke a pipe too (the official kind and not the "other" kind)
