What was the best thing before sliced bread?
Why is it called tourist season if we can't shoot them?
How is it possible to have a civil war?
What if there were no hypothetical questions?

It's a known fact that 5 out of 4 people have problems with fractions.

They are funny to watch sometimes. It's a wonder they ever get anything built that actually works, though.

As much as I love this country, U.S. Standard is pretty stupid. I wish we had gone to Metric when everyone else did.
Althought, quarter kilometer just doesn't roll of the tongue like quarter mile.

When it comes to working with numbers.....There are only 3 kinds of people.
Those that understand it....and those that don't!

Video isn't working, Error 404 - not found...
Anyway, the Imperial (not US) system is quite rational, actually.
Whatever size you have, the next size down is half of what you've got.
The problems arise when you're out of 19/32" and wonder if you should try 9/16" or 5/8"...

Reminds me of a story my father told. His first job after getting out of the Army in 1946 was assessing applicants wanting to get on board as machinist trainees for Vought Aircraft.
He would start them with reading a ruler and fractions. As the story goes, one applicant was having serious issues with fractions of an inch. My father says he got him to grasp there were four fourths and eight eights in each inch. He finally got him to sixteenths and thirty-seconds but when he got around to asking the guy how many sixty-fourths were in an inch, the applicant just threw down the ruler and as he walked away said, "I don't know, there must be a million of them." My father hired him anyway.
Good hunting
