I believe this was already brought up here..?  I'm not sure but just wondering what are your thought on this topic:

Like I've mentioned, I used to ride Triumph Daytona.  So I still have my jacket and full face Scorpion helmet.  Now that I have this bike, I don't know if I should take the "cruiser" look of half helmet and a vest?

I like to be safe and wear it all espeically the helmet (DOT/SNELL), but not sure if it'll look silly lol. I like my bones and my face.  

(I was in a small crash before and if it wasn't for the jacket I would have had some serious scrapes)

Use what you have and don't let us old guys who can't stand wearing helmets of any sort get under your skin. It is YOUR bike, YOUR gear, and YOUR decision.

I ride with several guys from Hickam and all but one wears either FF or modular FF.  Studies show we tend to lead with our chins.

No question! Just as the first rule of riding with others is to "ride your own ride", when it comes to gear....wear what you are comfortable with. It's your choice how much or how little you wear. And never let anyone ridicule you. It's your ass on the line,not theirs!

Or as the sticker on the helmet I SOMETIMES wear reads.... "let those that ride decide!".

Ive totaled 3 bikes.
First one, a helmet woulda been the fulcrum between shoulder & neck that killed or paralyzed me, cracked 3 vertebrae anyway,,when I landed at almost 60 mph on grass on my right shoulder & side of my head, feet high, (think lawn dart)
Second, no helmet, managed to not hit my head on anything
3rd, P/u turned left as I was about to pass him, went into the left bedside just behind the wheel opening, slid down the bedside & pasted my face into the cab corner, denting it rather nicely, according to the witness,, IDK, cuz I was asleep. Chin protector on the HJC collapsed in enough to cause a 2 stitch split in the upper lip, I was still having trouble swallowing 3 weeks later, because the chin strap got shoved back so hard.

Ya pays your money & ya takes your chances.. but I wont ride w/o a full coverage helmet,.

Open face equals insects, flying gravel and other small things from car/ truck tyres, stinging rain and hail, windburn. Plus potential increase in damage in an accident. Also increased fatigue on long trips. I would contemplate wearing one if I were riding a pre 'seventies bike

But not for me, at most a 3/4 shell and chaps/jacket/gauntlets in the winter.

Dixieland summer heat and humidity? Parked , or if I just can't stand not riding, sneakers, cut-offs and a half shell. A 3/4 or full faced helmet in 100 degree 100% humidity is a pressure cooker.
