I wear a denim vest or a leather one made from an old biker jacket. The point to me is a place to put my stuff. I like to carry meds, ear plugs, mints, street glasses, etc. and all the pockets give me a place to do that without the added heat of a jacket. When it is over 90*F though, I typically don't wear the vest and just hope I don't need the stuff.

Technically to protect your body's core from temperature fluctuations. In reality, just some place to put ride pins, patches and your pocket sized handgun. Well, my vest has an inner pocket that will hold one and some spare ammo...  Roll Eyes
