have a '06 s40 with only 1585 kms on it. now with fuel prices at $1.50 a liter its time to revive it. I want to do a old, faded, chrome all scratched up, been sitting in the field, back 40 (get it?! Grin) acre old school/rat rod  find. have now maxed out paypal (till next payday) getting old HD dyna can, cool led turn signals, battery. still need carb kit (hi Lancer), Verslavy Cam Chain Adjuster (hello Verslagen) ,Routy's forward controls (Greetings Roudy) and I'm sure more but I think i'll need more money. payday Monday! bike is torn down right now, carb in the house (cats don't appear to like the smell of gas, oh well) getting cleaned out and waiting carb kit. slow and steady right? does anybody now an easy way to age and fade paint and chrome? any ideas are needed and thank you in advance

Spend the summer on the Gulf Coast, the chrome will rot away nicely, and the paint will fade within a couple months... could be why bright orange was a 1998 color only... My factory muffler rotted out in less than a year.

Spray your painted parts with Krylon non-skid clear, it is not only flat, it's lumpy. Makes the paint look old in a hurry.
