Hand grips question
07/31/13 at 16:58:44

I measured my handlebars. They are 1 inch. So will any 1 inch set of grips work?

Not sure about the grips      TOROSO  I have a savage trike. I have a lot of leftover parts. Nearly new rear tire wheel brakes pulley axle swing arm seat foot pegs. You can have them free if you will get them out of my way. Contact me.

Most standard 1" grips will fit...
I have read, that just a few, have the right side and left side exactly the same diameter (maybe only some Harley bikes)...
Ours are 1" bars, but the throttle side must be thinner to account for the throttle sleeve...
This is the standard,... but not exclusively...

This is just what I've gathered... not gospel...
... but, if you really want to be sure... ask if the throttle side is thinner to account for the throttle sleeve...

Anybody correct me on this if I'm wrong...

Easy answer, no, they won't all work. Some are far too short unless you move your switch boxes outboard. Others are far too long, unless you move the switch boxes inboard. Some flat out will not work, others are pure junk from the word go.

What kind are you interested in? I run 5.25" long "Anderson" chopper grips, with a metal throttle sleeve, longer than stock, but so are the bar ends they are fitted to...

You are correct, the right grip will have a bigger inside diameter to account for the throttle sleeve. When I put Kuryakyn grips on, I had to trim down the ridges on the throttle sleeve to get the new grip to fit.

OP, try to get 1 inch grips that are the same length as stock or slightly longer.
