Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut between the seat and the handlebars. Make sure yours isn't too tight or too loose.

According to the internet, my Bell F12 runs around that price.  I don't remember what I paid for it

The only issue I have with it is that it tends to get a bit confused if you go over 75mph.  But, I don't normally go that fast anyway.

Hey BobR - Sorry to take so long to respond. I bought a Bell Dashboard 100 12-function Cycle computer at Walmart for $12.97. Our pedal powered bikes have much more expensive models, but I wanted to try something unique and didn't want to invest much in a failure! I guessed that a wireless type would have problems due to the electronic ignition. I made a backet for the magnet out of coat hanger wire and zip-ties, mounted it in the spokes. The pick-up and computer bracket were mounted with zip ties.

HD, mind posting a pic of your mounting setup for magnet, pickup and placement of the controller on the bars?

Anyway, could one of you guys to put up a picture of the mounting you did for your bicycle odo? I'm interested in how ya'll put the magnet on the spokes and what wheel size you chose. I have the Bell 100 bicycle odo that i'm trying to install and it says to place it "2mm" for best results", um that's kinda close.

Did yours move down the spokes after installing?

Get a couple of rare earth magnets.  Stack them, and just put them on the rim.  They won't fly off.
Mount the sensor up under the fender on the right side.

Sorry about the glare..
