I hope you guys do better than I did. I tried that a couple weeks ago. 90* temps really took all the fun out of it for me. My tent turned into an oven. I cut the trip short.

Well, we made it back!  Yes, it was pretty hot up there in the NC mountains, I was hoping for the 80's and lower humidity, I got fooled.  We (the adults from the this end of the state) took 24 Jr High kids wilderness camping from the local Christian Service Camp and met Mr & Mrs Midnight up there.  As they say, "A good time was had by all."

Well, until we started back and we blew my radiator, long story short, part of the group headed on, someone came from home to get the rest of the kids and the trailer, my truck was towed in to have the radiator replaced, wife and I got an extra night "camping" in a motel.  But all we had were the clothes on our backs, everything else got sent on ahead.  Not thinking too quickly at that point, maybe not thinking at all.

But we are home now and everything is more or less as normal as it gets around here, I guess.  Huh

But all of us flatlanders did enjoy the Midnights!

Jen  had so much fun she's bound and determined to buy a pop up trailer. She'll probably come home with one this week. It will make it a lot easier with my disabilities. We can load the camper with all our sleeping and cooking gear etc and leave it in there and all we'll have to pack is clothes and a cooler. Our grandson and dog had a ball. Mike's kids played with both of them. Mike has a great bunch of kids at his church.

Camping with friends is the way. Camping with just 2 people? Just too much needs done,, or, so it seems,, I never tried it, just me & the wife. But, with 3 couples, sure more needs cooked, but, theres more to share the load,,
