It shouldn't... 4 steel philips head screws that you throw away and replace with stainless steel allen head versions. They are cheap. 2 hollow brass screws inside the carb body, come out with a flathead screwdriver, or if they are really stuck/rotten, a small easy-out. Couple bucks per jet from Harley Davidson, you need the Mikuni large round style (HD usually has them, Suzuki usually has to order them).
Nothing to it unless you decide to monkey with the white spacer, air jets (don't bother, it's a CV carb, they suck), needle clip and spring positions...
Air/fuel mix screw and the jets above the float are simple, anything in the top end of the carb, leave alone. Too easy to tear a slide diaphragm.
