My headlight does not work at all, lo or hi beams. My brake light is on all the time, and the left turn signals don't flash- they just stay bright. Any suggestions on where to start? I am not electrically-minded at all.

I can check the rear brake light cable tomorrow. The rest will have to wait until I can get a voltmeter.

My rear brake light switch is sticking. Once it's out it doesn't want to go back in. It isn't adjusted too tight, either. I think the problem lies here:



There is a divot in this rod (which may or may not be visible in the photo), and the spring/washer is catching on it and preventing it from returning to its original position (off). Rather than order a new switch, can I just file this one down a little until it's smooth again?

id rather see ya clean it up & put something on it you can sand down. get pretty skinny just working that divot out. i filled some grooves on hydraulic rams w/ JB weld & smoothed w/ sandpaper.
remember, making epoxy stay starts w/ clean & dry & making that first pass pressed into the object, wetting the surface, not just dobbed on, once that first contact is made, then apply sufficient to fill. you mite be ahead pullint it apart & chucking the rod in a drill to finish it. Of course , sloppy on= pita later.

is that plastic? howd it get in that shape? is the ID it works in ragged?
