That's great! And slightly mad. Looks like a Norton gearbox?

quite the project. the guys on the guzzi forum pointed out some pitfalls.
that motor isnt meant to be loaded on the crank with side thrust. I guess some more engineering to compensate for the crank being sucked sideways when it tugs on that chain could be added on,,

All I could think of when I seen it was..." shouldn't there be a prop on the front of those pistons?" Reminds me of an engine that was on a friends home made plane. One of those mounted behind the passenger section with an overhead wing.

No, my friend.
Maybe nobody pointed out to you, that engine is a Moto Guzzi V7 (round heads) separated from the gearbox and mounted sideways on a custom made frame.
Way back before the japanese polluted the V-twin market, all V-twins were mounted longitudinally,
with the sole exception of Moto Guzzi who mounted the V-twin transverse and BMW-Zundapp-DKW who had flat twins.
Else, everybody else, from Moto Morini to Ducati to Vincent, mounted their V-twins longitudinally.

That is quite possibly a Morgan Three-wheeler with a Jap engine.
(It is called "JAP" but it's 100% British)

There are Guzzi, Honda and even Harley-S&S powered three-wheelers (I just can't call them "cars")
Here's the link to an article on the Daily Telegraph (mind you, they're journalists, not test drivers)

Well if you include flat twins, there plenty to choose from- douglas flat twin, Russian and Chinese BMW clones, Sunbeam/BSA vertical twin (V twin folded right up?) for example.
I love that you can still buy a brand new Morgan 3 wheeler.

Sorry, not much of a motorcycle engine enthusiast.... but that white BMW just screems form and function, and not a bad looker either, i'd put it in my garage....if I could afford it!
