I had to have a custom bracket made to move it a little more rearward. I am a big man and the original location pushed my crotch into the tank. They did it with no additional charge. Nice guy.

You had better think about changing the rake as well with forks that long. If you don't you will loose a lot (or all) of your trail, and the bike will handle awful, especially as a trike, with no lean in the corners.
I added 4" longer tubes and 9 deg of rake, keeping the bike level, and not changing the trail by more than 1/4". The bike handles much better IMHO, the only difference is it takes more lean in slow speed corners, and has a larger turning radius. Frank, of Franks Forks, had stated he is reluctant to sell forks more than 4" over stock without a rake change as he feels it makes the bike unsafe. Something else to think about: If you stick with the same wall thickness in longer forks you will get a lot more flex. Mine are from a Yamaha Virago 1100, with thicker walls, and that eliminated the need for a fork brace.

That was the plan. use the 12 degree triple tree with 8" over tubes. I need to talk the trike guys to see if this is feasible. I believe it will be but I will defer to the experts.
