I watched that and then several others... some great tips in there.
A bucket makes a good stand, of course bigger the better... so a trash can be very ergonomic stand.
Use cut up plastic milk bottles to protect the rim.
The advantage of the zip tie/strap method was ease of keeping the bead in the center of the rim. I've used C clamps on ocassion.
I've also went counter to mounting the spot next to the valve. It didn't balance, that spot was heavy, so I broke the bead, and spun the tire around till it balanced... no weights... cool.
