S40 seat replacement

Has anybody mounted an old 2 piece seat on the 05 and up S40's. Would like to be able to run the solo when I am by myself.

No answer for while... so I'll chime in with my own personal lack of experience...
It has been done before... not by me...
You have the same front mount, same rear hook, and two side bolts...
You may have to drill a new hole in the fender for the front pillion bolt,... or,... just allow the front seat to hold the pill in place...
Either way,... it's a piddle...

Taking the pillion off,... just as with one piece seat, will leave some ugly electrics, wires, seat hook, and fender anomalies...
Deal with those as you like...  many creative solutions if you give some thought...

Overall... yes you can...

Thanks Serow. Going to relocate the electronics anyway, so that wont be an issue. Thanks for the info.

How is it for comfort?  Long rides not a problem anymore?

If you weren't aware Corbin makes a high quality seat that fits our bike.  It is not cheap, but if you plan on riding that bike for an extended period of time it is worth it.  Best regards.

I have the Corbin seat that is very comfy and looks awesome but I switched back to the stock because I don't like how it sits a bit lower. If you're under 6' it's a pretty good option. I am actually looking to get rid of it because it just sits in my closet.

I'm not tall 5'8" with a 31" inseam, but when I ride a good distance on my 07' I always feel like the saddle would be more comfortable a bit higher and slightly farther back along with being more curved in the center. I know everyone is shaped different, but I can't imagine you tall dudes being comfortable with the stock seat without extended forward controls.  HMMM I might have to try my hand at making a custom seat next winter  Roll Eyes

I will shoot you an email, Todd. I have 4" forward controls and the stock seat on me gives it a pretty standard ride/feel. If the entire seat was the same height as the rear I would be extremely happy. For the lowest bike I have owned it's still really comfy, I've always had an eye for this bike and am pretty impressed.
