Model Number?
06/07/13 at 12:48:30

I was looking up some parts on Suzuki Parts Outlet and they occiasional have part numbers listed for different models.  For example they have two clutch cover gaskets listed and one says something about Model T/V and the other Model W/X/Y/K1/K2/K3/K4.
Both have teh same part number: 11482-24B11 but the first is REF # 5-1 the other 5-2.

What does this mean and how do I know which model I need?

Those letters refer to the year code in the VIN.
They all refer to the same p/n... pretty much makes your question mute... don't it?

I suggest you go out and look at the tag that has the serial number on your motorycle....it is located on the steering head.  That will list the serial and model number of the bike.....including the j/k/l/m whatever your bike is.

So if the first letter/number is a J I have a J model?

The part that is confusing me is that J/K/L/M are not model options.

Correction, K is an option but only K1/K2/K3/K4.

Those id numbers pertain only to the year the bike was made.  For example, mine (see my signature block) is referred to as a "K1" model (the full model number for my bike is "LS650K1."
