so you're saying it's gotta be within the charging system because of the burnt up wires coming from the stator to the regulator, and if the stator is pumping out the proper voltage but the battery's voltage doesn't rise when you rev it then it's gotta be the regulator. but if I can ride around and have the battery charge up on me then that must be working somewhat right?
alright I'll double check my wiring. I wonder if Dane would let me use his battery for a minute to see if that's the problem or not. if the battery is not the prob, a regulator from the manufacturer is almost $200. Ricks Motorsports in Texas makes one for like $110. is that a good price or something it seems a bit much?

Yeah, we can try that. Also, I think stator doesn't have a proper voltage as that is the point of the voltage regulator(keeps power level), which converts the D/C from the battery to A/C that the starter motor and loghts use.

You'll have come on over again, we'll swap one out from the extra bike to confirm that's what's bad.

And we'll go for that ride you guys promised me.   Cool

huh... you know what versy I guess I didn't check my wires. I've been staring at my bike for like an hour and a half now and I just realized that there's no orange wire coming from the regulator, jst the blkwht and the red. there's a spot for another wire on the connector and there is an orange with black tracer wire coming out of the other side of that connector. unless that orange wire comes from some magical spot on the regulator that I can't find, I don't believe there is even a spot for an orange wire.
