I bought my 07 used with a Jardine already on it and it is horrible loud. Serowbot is right on about the performance w/o rejetting, too. I can't ride at highway speed for more than a half hour w/out getting a migrane and the noise around town just makes everyone mad. Currently looking to find a stock muffler.

I have a jardine on my 03 and let me tell you it's loud. It comes down to your preference. I think it's a bit loud but only at night when things settle down. However I think it's good overall. I think others have also purchased the Harley short muffler. Good luck with purchase.

Id Never put a stock muffler on,, too heavy & too ugly. The Dyna is cheap & attractive & saves pounds & sounds better.

I have an 06 with a Jardine Muffler I'd like to sell if you want one. Sound is way too loud for me. I can't stand it. You must re-jet if you want one.

I bought a 98 used with one recently, i love the sound of it. it's only loud if you want it to be in my opinion. heavy throttle = loud noise, light throttle = minimal noise.

Teggy, thanks I appreciate the offer.  The rejetting is a bit more of a project than I want to do at this time.  I'm a bit weary of the rejetting without any experience.  Best regards.

sand blasters are awesome. A wire wheel on a grinder will work good too.

On chrome surface rust I useually use #0000 steel wool, make sure its got 4 zero's. I get mine at wally world (wal-mart) comes in a bag with about six or eight pillows (don't know what else to call them). The #0000 will not scratch good chrome, but might scratch some of the chromed plastics, try small area not visable. But on every muffler or pipe i've used it on, it has worked great, I use it on almost every chromed part on my motorcycles.

Aluminum Foil and Coke....and maybe Ketchup does a good fast job of taking the rust off....however it does not do mucc to make is smooth and it will be rought to the touch where the rust buts up against the chrome.  The 0000 Steel wool and some real "chrome" polish works to make it smooth again.  The rusty areas are prone to rusting again as there is no protective chorme on top of that area anymore.....so it will rust again when it becomes wet.

I have a jardine and it is LOUD. I like the look the slash cut muffle and it a bonus that it will save my life because a deaf driver will feel the rumble of my exhaust Grin. I'm pretty much at sea level and use 52.5 pilot and 152.5 main with about half white spacer. Pilot screw is out 3 turns ( I know it's out far but the bike hates the 55 pilot jet)
