One of the things I really love about the savage/s40 is how forgiving it is. While riding to work in the rain very early this morning, I was showing a fellow rider a shortcut. It requires a U turn on a 4 lane main (because of a raised island/divider) to get back to the side street. While finishing up my U, I throttled a lil' too soon and she started to fishtale on me....arg, I went with it and she came out of it quickly, tucking herself back under me, I didn't go down or even foot it (feet off pegs) at 20 plus MPH. Try that with a 4 hunner pounder and see where it gets you Cheesy

I weighed mine on the bathroom scale before I took it apart. I had a block of wood the same height at the scale so the bike remained level when I move the scale from the front to the back. The back wheel had 200 pounds on it, the front had 150 pounds.....for a total of 350 without any fuel in the tank. It is a digital scale and is supposed to be accurate?

Suzuki's website says the curb weight is 381 pounds. When I weighed mine some time ago, I got 172 pounds front, 215 rear. I had suitable supports so the bike was level. It was full of fuel, minus about 20 miles worth, probably about 2 pounds. And it had a Plexifairing 3 on it, which at a guess weighs no more than five pounds. That came to 387 pounds, not far from Suzuki's claim. Besides the windshield, the bike was (and remains) stock.
