I had a friend that did that when he turned 50.  He took off work for 3 months and did the whole thing from the south to the north.

I told him tha that when I turned 50......I was going to buy a Lazy Boy, and then "become one!"

My wife did get me a Lazy Boy when I turned 50 - but so far I hardly ever sit in it.
