Setting rpm?

I ordered a tach/hour meter off ebay. I'm sure it's not the most accurate way to go but the price was right. So, the question is do I set it up for 2 fires per revolution or 1fire per revolution? Thanks!

This one fires every time the crank comes around. It fires on exhaust & compression. So, there ya go.

FWIW....
Actually, the question should be: "So, the question is do I set it up for 1 fire per 1 revolution or 1 fire per 2 revolutions?"

The head on the DR650 engine is similar to the LS650 head, with the exception of the exhaust ports, and it has 2 spark plugs.
When comparing side by side it is evident that the LS650 head is capable of having a second spark plug hole drilled and tapped just like the DR head ... IT WILL WORK.
That is on the list of things to do the next time my head is off the engine.
All that's needed beyond that is a dual wire coil and they are on the market for all those V-twins out there with dual plug heads.

I like 1 spark plug ! That way if a spark plug gives me trouble, I know which one it is.
I like a thumper for the same reason, if it starts missing, I know exactly which cylinder it is

Yeah but with only one cylinder, missing could be a much more critical situation than a twin or four.
