Hoping to ride back "home"

I am going to a graduation party for some cousins on June 2. They are about a 6 hour ride one way. It will be the longest ride I will have done to date. The weather looks like it is only going to have showers at either end of the trip. I know they can't predict anything more than a few minutes out but I am hoping it doesn't change to storms. I bought this cheap bag to attach to my back rest for my clothing and my saddlebags should be big enough to hold rain gear, cool weather gear, etc. I am excited!

Shipping was like $9. I got the bag only. I wanted a new helmet but they were out of the closeout I was looking at. The only real issue, if it is one, is the side flaps aren't real long. The gap may allow rain to enter. I only plan on using it for travel and will put my clothes in a plastic bag as well. To me it is a not issue.

Just remember to let the air out of the snap lock bags as you seal them up. It wilol be an interesting test to see how well your new bag keeps the water out.

Nice bag at a helluva price. I've never really had a problem with rain getting in my bags, even cheap ones, back when I could still put them on my bike. I've ridden in heavy down pours and hail before. I usually put everything in a grocery bag and tied it up.

Where is home for you?

P.S. I'd also run a strap through that top loop to something secure in case it decides to jump off the sissy bar.

Yeah, the 6 hour trip will probably be closer to 8 or so with all the stops. Plus, I would like to take some scenic routes instead of the highway.

"Home" is western PA in Hermitage. I am actually passing through that just into Ohio for my cousins' graduations.

I was thinking of adding a strap to the bottom to make it a little more difficult for people with sticky fingers at rest stops.

I was really pleased with the quality and size of the bag. It held up well and the guy that bought the bike from me is still using it. Good luck with your road trip!
