The adjusters were pointy like a pencil, almost. I thot it was a bad design when I saw them. They slowly pounded down & rounded off & work hardened. I no longer need to adjust as often.

I run a Jardine pipe. loud and farty. Nearly fully open. Had trouble tuning the carb for it. I eventually got it tuned with still a bit of backfiring. Still working on it.

Same here farts were pretty strong  how'd u get it to stop backfiring.

seems like the struggle to have it properly jetted is an ongoing process depending on distance from sea level. does the temperature affect the performance also though?

its crazy I've phoned Harley here and they say they don't have any of them and everywhere else said they don't also. Seems to be more of a struggle to get them locally here ... sort of frustrating. Shocked

You never know exactly what goes through another persons mind.

Some dealers may think....I got these take off mufflers that I am not going to use, and I might as well help somebody out and get a few bucks for them.  He might be a good return customer someday.

-or-

I am not going to sell these stock mufflers.....cause I wont't make any money on them and I can make a lot more profit by selling him some new aftermarket fancy/shancy ones!

yeah that's true and that's what I believe is happening. A guy I met with a savage (sportster slip on) said he talked to a local shop and they told him that they just throw them in the garbage at the end of the day so go pick through the bin after close. haha I'm catching a drift that they just want a up sale. Sad

That's the name of the game... upsell any and everything you possibly can. Bike and parts pricing in the northwest is horrible. I paid $5800 in 2008 for a low miles 2005 VN800B (Classic). Yesterday I found a 2000 model with 13K on it for $2500 (I'm broke, of course), and the stealership guy kept steering me to the brand new 2009-2012 models for a whole lot more. Tempting, but, not that fond of Yamaha. Although, $9500 out the door for a Road Star isn't bad.

If you weren't in Canada I could probably hook you up. But a used muffler isn't worth the extra FEES involved. I remember selling a Shadow 500 (early cartoon style) for about $1800, the border fees were close to 1/3 more. $600 to get it into BC, for a bike that should have fetched maybe $500 off the lot... Shocked
