Been looking for some bags myself so I'll be following this post closely.  I would like to hear about good fork bag recommendations also.

I just bought these for my wife's 2002. They just fit between the shock and the turn signal. They are pretty nice for the money. I don't know if the S40 is any different as far as fitment. I also bought the eBay supports and they fit well.

I don't like saddlebags, so I went with the Kriega bags strapped to the top of the passenger seat. Waterproof and you can strap them together in different configurations. Plus, they come off the bike super easy so I can just add them when I need them.

I like "Easy off" bags because they can be removed & hauled in the house to unload groceries,
YOu really cant just go stuffin grocery bags with groceries in them in saddlebags, unless youve got some Biggo Bags. KInda hafta Unbag the groceries into the saddlebags to get the most out of them,or, izzat Into them?
I got good service out of back packs. Takes some ingenuity, sewing some D-rings on, reinforcing with thin plywood ( 1/8th") & being good with parachute cord,,

I have these saddlebags bought by Leatherup.com

They're by XElement, and are described as "waterproof leather saddlebags"
Roll Eyes
Although they have proved to be waterproof, they are not "waterproof leather", rather rubber with leather glued on top.
Does the job, but in my part of the woods "waterproof leather" means, "leather made waterproof", not "rubber with leather glued on top".

They go hand in hand with this tool bag

which, again, is...

... you guessed it...

"waterproof leather"...  Cheesy

Still, they lookl nice and get the job done.

In style  Cool

And, at $125 for the three of them + s&h, it ain't so bad after all...

Yea, those look very nice, like thick vintage leather.

On my ride I couldnt fit the dual bag setup so for those looking for a single solution:

Did you have to move the signals for those?
