The viscosity I'm running is 15W50. Is that too high?

So I spoke to the Tech Guy at Motul and he gave me the 411 on the 300V 4T Double Ester 15W50 oil

While the levels of ZDDP are not as high as others the Ester technology takes the place of the 1200-1800 ppm ZDDP required/preferred for our bikes

It is made for high pressure, high heat & heavy loads associated with racing and flat tappet "old school" motors

After speaking with him I don't think my problem is the oil so I will definitely look into the post break-in valve adjustments

Your head will run hotter with 50 wt. due to the reduced flow.
and with syn, we don't have to worry about thinning at high temp
so I run 5w40 RotSyn all the time.
5-15w40 syn of any kind should be fine.
