At lease on a 2007, you can take the tank off without removing the regular petcock, though you have to lift, pull back, and wiggle the tank to the left before it will clear the frame. Much easier to do with the Raptor installed, though. And now off is off and on is on, which my ancient brain finds more logical. I used a rubber nipple from Autozone to block the carb port. I think it was 7/16th. Fit perfectly. [/quote]

7/16 is .437. I measured mine and the OD of the shaft is .220. So I believe the 7/16 will be way too big. Huh

Have to check when I get home. Must have been 7/32 (which would be a perfect fit), unless for some reason that manufacturer is referring to the OD of the nipple.

I am just waiting for the Raptor to get shipped to me.  I guess they order it from the vendor and then the vendor ships it to them...and then finally they ship it to me.  (sigh)  So, maybe I'll get it next week.  No worries though!  We've been getting rain almost everyday, so I'm not going to go riding in the rain.  Smiley

If the tank's close to empty, you may not even have to drain it. I ran mine down to reserve and was able to make the swap just by tipping the tank.

The only way I have seen it screwed up......is when someone used regular washers to install it.  The screw threads do not seal into the tank, and fuel can seep past the threads and screw head if you do not use the sealing washers.
