I would rather go with a better tire but unfortunately due to the economic issues in my life I am currently doing things pretty cheap. I thought $60 isnt too bad. Besides once I have a good tire I can take the girl to work and save money on fuel costs. My truck doesnt really help in that area 100 miles a day and 19mpg ends up being around $500 a month just to get to work... if the bike gets just 30mpg and I take it half the time I could save so much money! Thats the whole reason to get this girl goin as soon as I can

19mpg? That's better than double what my 2wd fullsized Dodge pulls down, and it has a small block. My mini truck (4cyl 5spd 94 Ranger pushing 208K miles) only gets 23-26.

My Savage stone stock averaged in the high 70s mpg commuting (16 miles a day, 35-45 mph). As it is in the above pic, 36mpg average.

I just checked my mileage on a 700 mile weekend riide.  With a Wiseco 95mm piston, Stage I cam, Mikuni VM36 carb, foam Uni-Filter and custom exhaust.....I got 58 mpg.  Riding was a combiniation of fast back roads and 65mph interstate travel chasiing Old Fellow arond North Carolina and Tennessee.

Well, My tire came in yesterday and my wonderful hubby had it all installed and ready when I got home from work. Took her for my first real ride. WOW boys and girls, these things got some torque! Nice little ride. I do have to lift up the front of that seat like yall said, it will make everything better. Other than that I have not a complaint in the world. Nice little bikes!

"My boyfriends bike is currently down"

"My hubby works third shift"

Do you have a small male harem or just choose assorted descriptive terms ?

Well, I guess doing his laundry might be considered a small part of being married.

ShovelBum87......Can I call you Bum?

You ask about the speedometer in another post.  I am not a fan of the location of the stock speedometer in the fuel tank.  I wear a full face helmet and cannot see the speedometer or indicator lights without rotating my head down and I lose sight of the road when doing so.  You could turn your speedometer hole into a cup holder and make a cup holder that slides into the plastic mount and leave the indicator lights in place........or just get rid of all that stuff and mount it elsewhere.

On my Cafe' conversion I used a TrailTech Vapor speedo/tachometer and I bought their dashboard to include the indicator lights.  Their lights are just a tad too dim to be seen in direct sunlight unless you focus on them....but they are visible and work better than the stock stuff. You may want something different than the digital look.....but is does have a lot of featurs like mph, rpm, time, odo, trip odo, resetable trip time and running time, engine temperature.....and a bogus air temperature that read 15 degrees too high.  I was freezing  my butt off on one ride and the temperature read out showed 70.....it was really about 55 degrees and damp.  I really don't need the air temp gauge anyhow.....I know when I am comfortable or miserable!

Dave, you can call me shovel, or bum or what ever I respond to almost anything, I posted in the other post that im interested in that speedo and I was curious how much it sucked to install, I really don't do well with electrical stuff, I know how it should work but I suck at it all the same. I kinda like the look of that and I rather like the price for what you get.

Lancer, laundry is not all I do for my honey, but its where it all started. Im well domesticated if I do say so myself

Shovelbum:

The hardest part of the Trailtech Vapor and dashboard is making a nice mount for it.  They make mounts for the common bikes....that is not us.  The wiring is no big deal.  The temperature gauge just does under the spark plug....or I prefer under a head stud.  The speedo drive just needs a magnet epoxied on the front hub and the sensor just two sided tapes onto the fork leg and the wire just gets taped to the front brake hose.   Both the temp gauge and speedo drive are just plug in connections.  You then need to run a hot wire and ground, and the tach need to be grounded and one wire run to the coil.  There are 4 dashboard lights and they just get wired into the places where the stock light go.....it is just splicing wires.

It is pretty easy to do.
