Ok, while talking about other bikes, does anyone have an opinion of the Honda VT 750S, I looked at one the other day and it was pleasing to my eye, not my bank balance. In NZ terms it's $2250 NZ dearer than the current list price of an S40. Anyway I did a 680 mile trip on the S40 a week ago and apart from a riveted butt, it would have been more riveted without the Airhawk seat, everything went fine. At least one of the Harley riders said "that little thing of yours gets along very well".

They are very easy on the eyes. Tolerable seats (better than anything by Suzuki). Nearly bullet proof engine and transmission. It's a Honda, QC is 1000x better than Suzuki tends to be...

That's the good...now for the bad: Slow, as in a road killed tortoise is faster. "Buzzy" handlebars. Ergonomics are on par with the Savage. Slow, a Savage can spank them all day long...

Did I mention slow...  Roll Eyes

Thanks for the info, I'll stick with my S40 and leave fantasy land alone.

I rode a VT500,... for a year...
Very smooth,... peppy,... do the ton easy...

The Savage sold me with basic simplicity...

I'm a dedicated ,... one lung, one carb,... air-cooled, fan...

Choosing a bike bike, over a car, is already an act rebellion... against excess...
Minimalism is an art...

When you consider it from a minimalist point of view... a Savage makes a tough argument...

I had a 750 ACE, & it was pretty awesome.
I rode the piss out of it, & that was its shortcoming.....I was also racing
at the time, & it was 10+ years ago.....I rode it like it wasnt intended for.
A Ducati 900ss it is not.
As intended, within it's capabilities, it is a fantastic bike.
I think they look incredible, stripped down, no bags, no passenger seat, no windshield......mine was all black. Leave the stock exhaust. It's heavy, but most sound pretty loud with an exhaust.
