I believe that is the factory paint, I went with the orange and black. I didn't think the Savage could pull a sidecar.....

Why not Dane? Hacks have been pulled for years by 500/650cc scooters.  Heck I've seen hacks on 350cc scoots before. Ya just have to    understand the limits of the rig and ride within them. Some of our members from Europe can verify but I'm sure there are many side hack rigs under 650cc still running the streets of many countries in Europe. They are a great way to run errands, fetch groceries and haul parts without wasting a lot of fuel.

Sidecars are available for the Stella scooter, a 150cc Vespa knockoff. And they were available back at least as far as the '50s for the original Vespa scooters. I suspect the dictionary definition of "slow" was accompanied by the picture of a Vespa and sidecar.

Wasn't even going there Charon....but since we did.........it's been rumored that the first "enclosed" hack came about when a Vespa side-hack rig was being overtaken by a tortoise .............. Wink

What brand is the sidecar? Velorex or what? Yes the Poms, Limeys to you Americans used side cars on many sizes of bikes from the 1920's and earlier until the 1950's. I'm sure my 1974 Jawa 350 Model 634 had provision for a chair as did the Russian Ural. The Whermacht used BMW's and chairs throughout WW2. Isn't your factory colour scheme great?

I have the January 1972 issue of Big Bike Magazine, in it is a 1965 Honda 250 Scrambler chopper, with hack, that had the top end replaced with 305cc barrels and pistons so it would have enough "oomph" to pull a chair...  Shocked

Talk about a gutless wonder...

In high school (around 1964) a buddy of mine used a Vespa (probably a 150cc) that had a sidecar attached to deliver papers.  The sidehack actually had a trailing link suspension.  top speed was around 40.
