T-bolt clamp size?
05/04/13 at 08:51:48
Ordered a dyna muffler off ebay and I want to be ready to do the swap a soon as it comes in. I hit up 3 shops yesterday and not one has t-bolt clamps (or any muffler clamps for that matter) I'm going to have to order one from fastenal and wanted to know the correct size. Don't want to pay $10 plus s&h for the wrong size. Anybody know the size needed? Thanks.

The Dyna Muffler has a 1-3/4" ID......and the clamping surface outside is probably right around 1-7/8".

Dave is spot on. I used a 1 3/4" clamp just because it's what I had on hand, it's snug to get on but works.

I almost had it but then it just went up in smoke.
HD sells a 1.75" clamp for about $8 if you have a dealer in your area.
Good hunting

There is an industrial Bearing Supply that sells them.
\Ill bet theyre available from someone for a reasonable price.
Buying from a bike dealer is the lest place to go hunting if Not spending a load is part of the goal,
If theyre not available elsewhere,, then yea,.

Yup 1-7/8". Just did the Dyna mod a month ago and I bought my clamps on ebay. There were several to choose from.

I ended up wandering into a local shop that works exclusively on HD bikes and told them what I was doing... one of the guys walked over to a shelf and pulled out a box full of them, found one that looked good, and gave it to me for free.
