I was over at my buddy Ricky's shop this morning check out this crazy custom bike he made, 944cc Ducati engine the rest is all custom made. I don't go for modern looking show bikes, but it's really impessive in person.

As a Ducati owner, I have to chime in here.

A) hideous

B) no disrespect to your buddy, but it's not that custom. Primarily, bolt on stuff + a raked steering head. Underneath all the tacky, it's pretty well all Ducati. An ST2 with a Monster SS swingarm if I'm not mistaken. Even the tank looks stock.

C) to each his own, I don't like it, but others might. And that's OK, it's what makes custom bikes so much fun. Even if someone doesn't like what you've done, if you get a reaction (good or bad) you've done something right.

I've owned 4........& have to admit, the only part of this I like is where I can still see stock Ducati.

I've owned 125ish motorcycles.
Those 4 Ducati's represent 4 out of my top 5.
It's very, very, very difficult to being the soul that a 90degree, 2 valve, air-cooled Ducati engine has, to the game, in another configuration.
My Aprilia SXV450 was pretty nasty.

Just back from a 10 day offroad tour of Sicily (including climbing up, then skeeting down Mt.Etna as it was erupting)
and what do I see ?

THIS ?  Shocked

It's OK, I've seen worse... MotoGuzzis with tractor tires and plows, and Harleys rebuilt into café racers...

I cringe when I see a pickup truck with flashy wheels & low profile tires.
Hurts even worse when its lowered. Wanna go for absolute disgust? Throw a custom paint job on it so that not only has its use as a pickup been ruined by the "Modifications", its now become too valuable to touch, for fear of scratching it.

Why buy a pickup if you want butt jewelery?

That Duc isnt "modified", its been vandalized.

To each his own.  I've heard that argument about trucks many times, but hey, it's custom/personalized and I respect that.  I have a 2+ body trunk that's filled with hydraulic pumps and batteries.  People say "you can't fit a lot of luggage in there now."  Well I'm not exactly driving this car to the airport!  Roll Eyes Grin

Yea,, IM just an old fuddy duddy. I know that about me. I like stuff that works & Im  just not very artsy fartsy. If I raise a flower, its to be a companion to a garden plant & its gonna DO something for me, not just be pretty. Im trying so hard to remember a word. Its so succinct in describing me.
My truck just makes my blood boil. Its an 87 F150/XLT, 2 tone gold on green, running boards, bug deflector, tie downs on the bedsides & a chrome tailgate cap. 300 CID 6 banger, 4 speed. It pulls a trailer with 32 cubic feet of mulch & its like theres nothing back there. Its no sweat pulling away from a stop. Its a little slower, but gee, its not straining,,
Its Perfect for ME. I LIKe that truck,, There are newer & prettier that I dont want. Even a straight swap..
