rl I've used Opti2 for over 20 years and it's the best. It meets all OEM specs for warranty and covers everything from 32:1 up to 60:1 in a single mix. No need to carry a different gas can for each mix!

Stihl has also come out with their synthetic 2cycle oil "Ultra" . Also a very good product.

What will happen if you use non synthetic oil in the gas if they tell you to use synthetic oil in the gas. Even tho the mix is right.

My best guess.....is that synthetic oils burn cleaner.  It could well be that the dino oil products would carbon up exhaust ports faster, and you would lose performance.

Back in the late 70's I worked at a lawn mower shop and we serviced Lawn Boys.  Back then you got a quart of 30 non-detergent oil and added it to a 5 gallon can of gasoline.  Part of the tune up procedure for the Lawn Boys was to remove the bottom half of the muffler and scrape the carbon out of the exhaust ports.  The exhaust on those was a serial of rounds holes, and they often were nearly closed up with carbon.

When I first started snowmobiling the plugs would foul out easy,Went to Klotz syn. No more fouling out of plugs and they gained a little top end speed.
