Hartman mod/re-jet question
04/26/13 at 12:58:34

I just replaced my stock drilled out muffler (1/8" holes drilled out then plugged by PO with cap screws) with a hartman mod muffler I had sitting in the garage.

I like the sound and the occasional backfire.  Do I need to rejet?

I am a little nervous of removing the carb and do not know if it was rejeted by the PO.

The power seems good if you roll on the throttle slowly.  Does anyone think I will cause damage to my valves if I do not rejet?

What does that mean?... Is the power different if you turn the throttle fast?... Huh...

Great question!

If I "ride it like I stole it" I get a slight flat response in second gear.  Keep in mind I never ride that aggresively.  I was just testing the response after I installed the hartman mod.  Thank you for picking up on that thread.
