True. That thing is probably louder than the CS-1 Emgo muffler about 10 minutes into the first ride,... when all the toilet paper burns up and blows out.

For me, the seat is okay,... not great,.. but okay.

What causes a problem for me, looks-wise, is the tank. Apparently they are using the standard sportster tank which has a very harley-ish chopper-ish look to it. I might do one of these sportster cafe conversions sometime in the future (I haven't had an American two-wheeler since my Cushman Highlander in 1961),.. if so I'll use a tank that looks more like the tanks on racing bikes in the 1960s.

This pic shows the kind of tank I like,.. I think it is more in context for a cafe racer:

Keep in mind this is all PURELY a matter of personal pref. Anyone creating his own motorcycle will create simply what he likes. I would never think poorly of someone who be likin' a Harley tank.

Zackly. The lower edge of the tank should be inline with the lower edge of the seat,... one long smooth line from the front of the tank to the rear of the seat.

The way the tank looks in the RYCA sportster conversion is too high. It looks like it is just sitting up there waiting to be lowered down where it belongs. My suspicion is that it is a concession made to be able to use the stock tank. It is a LOT of work to put a tank that sits lower on a Sportster.

Again, this is just all personal pref.

Yep.....You got that tall V-Twin poking way up in the air.

I wonder how comfortable this thing is.....with such a low seat and the pegs up high? It was a lot of work to build this.....wonder how far that thing leans over when you don't have that block under the kickstand?

That was my first thought when I saw it.

I agree with the tank issue as well; it should have an appropriate tank in keeping with the Cafe Racer theme.

This would be quite a bit more of a project, though, fitting a Sportster motor to a featherbed frame. Probably triple the cost of the RYCA conversion as well.
