I see what you mean. The sound is already mixed and created from the head to the muffler connection. So your saying it would sound the same regardless of the tail pipe.
It must make some difference surely. I have since utubed the new 2013 Gold Wing with just 2 straight pipes and sounds completely diferent.

I thought a heard a car alarm going off in the audio.....which makes me think the pipes might be a bit too LOUD if they set off car alarms!!

I got some back pressure back but now it's almost too quiet.
