Got two new tires put on the wifes savage today and on the ride home, I could barely keep it running. When I got to the house (8 mile trip) there was fuel residue on and below the tool kit box and on the heat sheild below it. It smelled as tho it was flooding out and halfway home I checked the choke, it was in, but it would almost die when I started applying throttle and letting out the clutch. I had to high rev it to get it to roll and if at the top of rpm before shift it would start sputtering. Going to dissasemble the thing tommorrow if I have time see where the carb fuel lines and all the vac and overflow lines are located.
Any heads up would be appriceated, the bike was running flawlessly on the way into town and for the first 10 minutes after. I drove it to a fast food place and spent 2hours there goofing off waiting for the wife. When I got on it, I let it warm up for about two minutes and at the first stop light it started acting up.

check the float valve, sometimes a little scheissa gets in there.
pull the seat out there's screen on top.

THe 660 Raptor is a Yamah Quad.

The correcdt part number is 5LP-24500-01 from your Yamaha Dealer where it will be very expensive.  Online sources can provide the factory one for far less.

Anyone still selling it for the $18 price?

That site looks totally different than the one I seen, had already ordered one from another parts store for $22 +  shipping, total was like $26, it will be here wed.

Got the oil and filter
Ordered the petcock
Got the vacuum plug
Now what else should I do when I empty it and pull the tank? Anything special I should look for?
I'm not hip on doing the carb plastic washer removal yet, haven't recieved the impact screwdriver from Harbor Freight yet.

Thanks for the info, i'll look at it and see, but the tank speedo rattles a little bit and I might want to see what I can do to fix that.

Read thru the speedo thingy and might wait a bit, its always easy to remove a tank anyway...well...on a good day.
After our ride today I went back out the the garage to empty my backpack and kicked the air filter I had taken out of the savage, I had laid it down next to my toolbox on a rag to keep it off the floor which in florida means sandtrap.
The rag and filter are both still soaked with gas from the overflow I had, guess I'll be ordering a new air filter too, even the foam seal is soaked.
Air box is now dried out tho.....
Tommorrow afternoon i'm moving the engine guard bar from the rebel over to the savage, i'm hoping i'll have enough washers to make a good fit, looks like the engine sits a little to the left, hopefully the bar won't mess up the belt alignment.
